Watermelon Season Activities at Keel Farms for the Entire Family
Summer in Florida is not complete without celebrating watermelon season! And at Keel Farms, we know that there’s no better way to celebrate one of our favorite times of year than with our annual Watermelon Weekend. Watermelon Weekend is a family-friendly festival jam-packed with anything and everything watermelon and sunshine.
We are excited to invite friends from near and far to enjoy a weekend full of summer fun, delicious food in Plant City, and, of course, everything watermelon. This year, Watermelon Weekend is being held on Saturday, June 21st and Sunday, June 22nd, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on our farm.
A Summer Celebration for All Ages
Looking for a budget-friendly way for your family and loved ones to enjoy the summer sun? This festival has free admission with a $10 parking fee.
If there’s one thing we specialize in when we host an event, it’s fun! Kids are sure to want to spend all day going between the brightly colored bounce houses, water slides, and kids’ zones designed to keep them entertained and cooled off. And to bring some old-school summertime competition, we will be hosting a watermelon eating contest. Think you have what it takes to win? Try it out!
Explore Local Vendors and Treats
While the little ones play, adults can explore a curated selection of local vendors and artisans selling their handmade goods, fresh produce, and other various summer-inspired products. We’re sure that you’ll find a perfect memento or gift browsing the tables.
Keel Farms’ food trucks and walk-up dining stations will also be serving up tasty seasonal eats all day long. While we are proud to be one of the best restaurants in Plant City, no traditional table service will be available during the festival. You and your loved ones can easily enjoy your delicious food at any of the open seating areas in the dining room, patio, or backyard with no reservation needed.
Sip on Seasonal Wines and Watermelon Cider
A visit to Keel Farms wouldn’t be complete without sampling our seasonal wines and ciders. This year’s star is our beloved Watermelon Wine. It’s a light, refreshing, and sweet wine that perfectly captures the taste of summer. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast, lover of the summer, or just looking to try something new, this pour is a must-try.
If you prefer something a little different, cool off with a glass of Keel Farms Agrarian Watermelon Cider. This bubbly drink is crafted with fresh ingredients and full of that bright, fruity flavor we all know and love.
